Wednesday 8th October saw the launch of Cafe Science Extra, an exciting series of debates that showcase the latest news from upandcoming scientists. Cafe Science Extra gives you the chance to hear the latest scientific developments from researchers at the cutting edge of science.

The first Cafe Science Extra event was held on Wednesday 8th October at the Infusion Cafe at Sensation. Marios Stavridis from the University of Dundee presented his latest findings on “Stem cells: From nervous issue to nervous tissue“. Marios’ wonderfully succint and entertaining presentation was followed by an open discussion with questions encouraged from the audience.

Cafe Science Extra runs as a regular event at 6pm on the second Wednesday of each month during 2008 and 2009 until our summer break in July 2009. To find out more visit our website.

On Monday 29th September we will kick off our second season of CafeScienceDundee talks.

On the Monday Dr Christopher Connolly will be presenting Talking Neurons: the importance of learning to listen. As always the talk is aimed at the public and is in the relaxed setting of the Starbucks area in Borders book shop.

The talk starts at 7pm, so make sure you arrive early to get coffee and a seat!
