Magic Markers – Recent Developments in Fingerprinting – 7pm, Monday 31st Oct

Using fingerprints to identify people and criminals has been around for over 150 years.

However, new fingerprinting techniques being developed in Dundee are at the forefront of revealing finger and hand marks on fabrics and clothing.

This new technique will give the police an important new tool, in particular when investigating whether someone jumped or was pushed and in cases of sexual assaults. This talk will concentrate on the past, present and future of fingermark detection and offer the audience an opportunity to help solve a particularly heinous Halloween crime.

Join us at the award winning Chambers Coffeehouse and Restaurant, 34 South Tay Street for this intriguing discussion with Prof. David Bremner from the University of Abertay.
